Roboze Automate: speed, repeatability, and control thanks to automatic Z calibration

Increase accuracy and ensure process repeatability thanks to Roboze Automate

The adequacy of a produced part represents the quality of the component, in relation to tolerances and specific requests. Together with performance and availability parameters, this is one of the most important elements to consider when designing a new production cycle.

At Roboze, we have developed a technological ecosystem, Roboze Automate, to meet the needs of innovative manufacturers, which combines a number of elements inherent in 3D printing and industrial automation.

Today we will discuss the patent pending automatic calibration of the Z-axis, a key element for accuracy, repeatability, and productivity. The system allows you to identify and set the machine zero - i.e., the position of the extruder with respect to the printing surface independent from the type of extruder used and/or its wear, the polymeric printing accessories, or the deformations and thermal expansions that are generated inside the heated chamber, maintaining a uniform distance throughout the printing area.

In particular, the automation system of the Z-axis of Roboze exploits the deviations measured to adjust the angle of the plate so that the nozzle is neither too close to the plane since this would result in the occlusion of the extruder, nor too far, otherwise the extruded material may not adhere correctly, generating imperfections and detachments of the layers present. The automation of the element also reduces manual operations, making set-up faster by accelerating system productivity.

The Roboze Automate technology, integrated into the ARGO 500, was created to accelerate the transition to a new era in customized production of On-Demand and Just in time finished parts by increasing applications in metal replacement as well as the scalability of production around the world.

The 3D Parts network is made up of innovative service providers who are highly specialized in engineering, production, and post-processing of finished parts and functional components and equipped with the latest Production Roboze system. It is the backbone of the distributed production model that we proudly promote.
